Movement in 360

Gaming lately has been limited to World of Warcraft (lvl 37 baby), and unpacking. I have the Entertainment center set up, mostly. Since it’s such a large living room compared to pretty much every place besides my parent’s house that I’ve lived in, it’s hard to keep myself from drooling over the thought of a big screen TV to replace my 27″ Brick.

Now, in upgrading the TV, of course I’d need a better sound system. And I should probably get an Xbox 360 too. Now I’m getting carried away. Sure, the Xbox 360 is cool, and I probably will get one, eventually. Heck, they even incuded the basic functionality of XBMC in it. It supposedly searches out media on computers in your network and lets you play them on your TV.

My concern is support for things like Xvid, Divx, and Subtitles. I do love my ability to watch movies from other countries without having to learn the language.

There will be 18 titles Nov. 22nd that will be available with the Xbox. There’s also the list of compatible games. I probably won’t buy a 360 until June though, that should be about the time that pricing gets somewhat reasonable.

I’ve also been getting rid of junk that I own at a 2:1 rate, as in I have to get rid of twice as much stuff as I bring in. I just picked up two chairs for the living room, so that’s probably a couple garbage bags of clothes, the bread machine, and some other old cookware. I wonder how much stuff I’ll have to get rid of to get the 360 and it’s power brick?
