Goals & Resolutions for 2006
Every year people make their New Year’s Resolutions that really only hold out for about a month, or in some cases, until the next morning. Gamer Transit Authority has had an interesting year for it’s first year of existance. We’ve helped ferry people to PAX on the GTA bus, we’ve made a small splash in the water of the gaming community, and there are ripples out there from that.
There’s a lot more that we would like to be doing, we’ve just been on a small hiatus on planning anything, or getting anything organized while we completed our relocation to the Seattle area. We’re sad to see our friends in Oregon go, but we know that they’ll stick close to us in heart. Yeah, whatever. We’re up here to be close to the heart of Gaming that is in the Seattle area. There’s so many wonderous opportunities in this land of richness that we might partake of.
There’s been several ideas that have been bouncing through my brain as what we can do, as GTA, to help the community. One start I guess is to develop some of these ideas into a coherent thought and present it, and see what people think about it. Along with that, we need more people checking out our message, seeing what we’re up to, and getting involved. Once the PAX DVD comes out, we’ll probably see a small resurgence of interest, as we’re featured prominently in portions of it according to inside sources.
Also, with PAX being back on the same weekend, and at the same location, I’ve been offering my help in the organizational side of things with the Enforcers. I have a fair amount of background with events, and I hope to make PAX 06 run even smoother than it ran in 05, or at least as smooth, with there going to be a hella lot more gamers this year. If evidenced simply from the generocity of the fanbase for Child’s Play this year, Pax 06 is going to fill to capacity and spill out into the nation.
Let’s keep looking forward to 06 with the thought of growth and success in mind.
