Back Of the Bus: Live From PAX06
Good morning everyone. It is just past 2:30am Saturday morning and I am coming to you from the paisley carpet here on the 7th floor of the f/k/a Doubletree in beautiful downtown Bellevue.
My most loyal Bus Riders will no doubt gaze in bewilderment at the prospects of a live “blog” style post here in my little corner of the net. Well, since most of you are here now, you know the reason: it is time again for impossible beauty that is PAX. If the study of chaos is a science, PAX would be well put to use as a supercollider. A gaming convention for gamers, by gamers? It is really something that shouldn’t work, the ‘average’ man (whoever that is) would scoff and tut-tut at the very idea that such an event could take place once, far be it three times.
Even the most serious of haters could only say that maybe PAX04 was a fluke, and that PAX05 was just a coincidence, but PAX06 is so far running, if not like a Swiss watch, then at least better then a U-Force.
In just over 24 hours I’ve seen people at the end of a 6 minute journey and the end of a sixty hour pilgrimage, I’ve met an artist who etched the day into living glass, I heard an inflatable ball turn from toy to god, and I felt strangers become friends, and friends become brothers.
It’s getting early now, so I invite my Riders here at PAX to catch some Zs and all the rest of you to stay tuned to gamertransit.com for more Back of the Bus, including my full PAX reflections, and Interview with the minds and hands behind Life Meter Comics, and oh yeah, something else I found on a plane other then snakes.
