Dynasty Warriors - You are no longer allowed…
This goes out to all game reviewers. Thank you for your time. I hereby relieve you from every doing a Dynasty Warriors / Samurai Warriors article ever again. Shin Sangokumusou came out 6 years ago and I loved it. Others may have loved it or hated it, but that’s fine. Here’s the thing; it hasn’t changed and it won’t really change.
Koei has a good thing going with most of their games. Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Nobunaga’s Ambition, and Dynasty Warriors all have a rabid fan base. We will buy the game on ps2 and xbox360, because they improve it just a tiny bit. If you want to make an article, design it like a change file for a ‘dot release’ or a ‘minor version’. Sure it’s Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires for Xbox360 but it’s really just Shin Sangokumusou Ver 1.9! Tell me what changed, what didn’t change, how better the graphics are and go with it. I don’t care that the use 80s rock music mixed with Koto music… I’ve gotten to love that. I don’t care that it’s nothing like one game or another, just tell me how many people I can genocide on.
If something drastic happens, let me know. In the mean time I know that Empires is a bit more strategy and Extreme means you have more mini games. The funny thing is this; N3 was supposed to blast it out of the water and show them how it’s done. However, the massive planning failures just make the game unplayable. I’m not hip to the entire ‘no easy saves’ idea with N3 and Dead Rising. I’m a big fan of replaying a game and making it harder on myself by NOT using the crouches. But maybe that’s because I suck at these games…
