Dragon’s Den: NES Review: Super Mario Bros.

This game is, quite possibly, the greatest game of all time. Packed in with the NES, millions of gamers experienced home gaming for the first time with this title. Unlike other pack-in games, like Altered Beast and Duck Hunt, which fell flat over time, Super Mario Bros. remains entertaining to this day. Singing the first few bars of the theme song will illicit of response in more people than you think.
Deceptively simple, the goal is to get from the start of the stage to the flagpole in front of the castle. The game contains 8 worlds split into four parts, and each world ends in an encounter with Bowser. The difficulty ramps up at a nice, even pace without too much frustration.
Most of the charactres from this game have become gaming icons, and Nintendo built most of their empire around the popularity of the characters in this game.
If you’ve never played this game, shame on you. If you have, go play it again. You’ll like it.
